World War II. One of the biggest events in history that also happens to be one of the largest selection of historical fiction. What is this book about?

This book is about a girl named Kasta who has the power or “Grace” to hurt and kill others. She teams up with Po to stop a king with the Grace to make people believe the lies he tells from killing his daughter Bitterblue.

What makes this book excellent?

The plot was fast-paced and the characters were well-developed and the resolution was really well written.

What is this book about?

Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit of the Shire is invited on an adventure by Gandalf the Grey along with the company of Thorian Okenshield, a group of dwarves who are determined to reclaim their homeland from the great dragon Smaug.

Does the book have any weaknesses?

There are NO weaknesses. It is perfect. 🙂

What is this book about?

This is about a boy who struggles with mental illness but overcomes his problems.

What makes this book excellent?

  • The main character, Craig, is relatable and interesting.
  • The story takes on very heavy themes but it is still told in a lighthearted (but still captivating) way.
  • The story sticks with you and makes you think about life more profoundly.

We are reading Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm as retold by Philip Pullman. Please feel free to read one, some, or all of these dark and creepy short tales. Copies are on hold for the club at the main circulation desk of the library.
